  • The Power Of A Sketchbook

    Funded Apr 2, 2024

Thank you for your contribution to my classroom. You have allowed me to provide each individual student with their own sketchbook, new classroom drawing supplies, and new tools to help students with drawing skills such as stencils, how to draw books, and image projectors. They were absolutely thrilled to find out they were getting their own sketchbook to use and were excited to explore all of the new tools.

I have made a new "sketchbook cubby" where all of their sketchbooks are organized. Students have already become excited and empowered to find their sketchbooks, get their supplies, and work in their sketchbooks when they are done with the activity for the day. I can tell that they value having ownership of their own book and I'm really looking forward to seeing them continue to use them and develop their drawing skills.

Thank you again for your kindness and generosity towards my students and to me as a teacher. It feels great knowing my students are excited and happy about creating art.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Erickson

  • Hands On Ceramics!

    Funded May 19, 2021

Thank you so much for giving my students the opportunity to explore using clay tools and materials! When they heard "clay projects" they lit up! The amount of excitement and engagement all of the clay projects brought is amazing. Truly not much is better than the hands on feel of working with clay. It develops students fine motor skills and is a wonderful sensory experience for all of them. My older students are even talking about how excited they are to take ceramics classes when they move into middle and high school. We appreciate you helping us fund our clay projects so much. Thank you!”

  • Loopers & Looms Weaving Project, at School or Home!

    Funded Dec 26, 2020

Thank you so much for your contribution to our Looms & Loopers project! I cannot begin to tell you how excited students have been to use these new weaving materials. My students and myself are so grateful for these new and exciting materials. They have been weaving diligently for the last several weeks and are starting to finish up their projects. I can tell how proud they are when they complete a weaving and want to show it to the class, or when they proudly declare who they will be gifting their weaving to. It has been wonderful for their fine motor skill development as well. Having these materials has really been a great hands on and tactile experience for them, especially during this age of constantly using technology. I can even sense the relaxation happening while they focus and work on their weavings. All in all, it has been a great project and I really appreciate you taking the time to help support my classroom. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Erickson

The loopers and looms weaving project will help students learn about weaving at school, but it can also easily be used from home. While students are learning remotely, I will send these miniature and easy to use looms and weaving materials home with them. We will meet virtually and have "weaving time" together as a class. This will promote social and emotional support while we spend time together. Students will learn about the history of weaving, the technical terms used in weaving, and get hands on experience while weaving. It is a simple yet effective art skill to learn. The loopers and loom sets are also a great way to boost student's fine motor skills while also offering a calming sensory effect during the process of weaving.
