By providing these materials, my students will be better equipped to design Science Fair projects, participate and collect data used for NASA science explorations, solve real-world problems, and study scientific method to recreate and solve science hypothesis. Since we live south of Miami, Florida, our parents have a choice to send the students to school or keep them at home while interacting with my colleagues and me. Either way, many of my students will not have scientific calculators and headphones equipped with a microphone, which they need to evaluate complex math and scientific data points in 6-8 grades. In addition, many need help buying science fair boards for their required Science Fair projects. During class, we graph a lot of data points, so if the students had graphing paper this would greatly improve their ability to graph the data. The last thing I requested was a girls’ science kit. We are constantly trying to encourage and cultivate female scientists and this is a great way to help girls understand that science is for both boys and girls. I appreciate your time and hope that you can help me find the next generation’s Albert Einstein or Mae Jamieson in Homestead, Florida! My middle school students and I thank you for creating future engineers, researchers, medical doctors, Robotics engineers, meteorologists, veterinarians, and all of our other scientists.
