  • Lighting Up Learning

    Funded May 10, 2023

Thank you for your donations! Students have worked hard all year long, and are excited to finish up their year with fun activities like flashlight reading, as well as utilize the headphones for end of year assessments! The project will help not only my classroom, but the entire 4th grade.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rapoza

  • Adventures through Literature

    Funded Sep 21, 2022

Thank you so much for your donations! I have been able to add to our classroom library and help foster a love of reading during our independent reading time. One of our classroom goals at the start of the year was to increase our reading stamina and engagement. In recent weeks I have seen an increase in students enjoyment and length of reading time in the classroom.

Students have been swapping out "The Baby Sitter Club" books, passing from one friend to another that has been eager to read. Others have found new favorite authors or series that they cannot wait to read more of!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rapoza

  • Anchoring Learning

    Funded Aug 21, 2021

Thank you so much for your donation and contribution to our classroom this year! So far this year, we have been able to make so many different anchor charts for both expectations and education, and utilize these materials to help grow together!

My students were amazed that sticky notes could be so large and have helped increase student engagement and participation. We utilize them for everything from brainstorming/sharing ideas in a "write the room" way to recording or modeling strategies for math!

Once again, thank you all so much for your donation to help improve student engagement, enjoyment of learning, and the ability to have visual reminders all around them each day for academics and expectations!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rapoza

This classroom project was brought to life by Osmo and one other donor.
  • Reading Each Night to Make Our Futures Bright!

    Funded Dec 17, 2020

Thank you so, so much for your contributions! My 22 students and their families were so grateful and excited when they received their gifts! They were all so surprised when they realized that the books they had chosen to be interested in reading were actually now in their hands and their very own. We were able to do a hybrid version in May and many of the students came in talking all about their books and which they have been reading so far! Parents were thrilled to be able to have theirs kids reading a book, rather than just online and being able to engage and own their reading off-line!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rapoza

I have a class of 22 wonderfully eager 3rd graders! They love to learn and listen to books being read. Our class is fully virtual this year, and students are in an urban area. Due to this, being able to allow my students to feel the joy of a book in their hands to get lost in has been extremely difficult. Being able to gift each student 2 books that they chose as interested by would be amazing. Virtual learning has come with many challenges and difficulties for my students, but they have continued to take on any challenges that we have faced. Using online reading platforms just is not the same, nor as engaging for many of my students. Many students are below grade level in their reading, so being able to support and gift them the ability to improve their reading, share a book with a sibling or adult, and see that I believe in growth is important.
