  • Staying Warm

    Funded Feb 11, 2025

Thank you so much for your generosity. My class will be so excited to have something to keep them warm this season, as well as also have something custom made for them to hold onto for a long time. We can’t thank you enough for helping make this happen.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kydon

  • 24-25 Wish List

    Funded Sep 8, 2024

Thank you SO much for your generous donation. Thanks to you we're able to enjoy our centers more than ever, collectively come together as a class throughout the school day, and have a more comfortable learning environment. Our class rug is admired by our class daily, as well as by anyone else who enters the room. It brings everything together and is the most popular spot for our kids to work when given the choice.

Our class also has a "class economy" system where we're able to earn class dollars to help assist us with place value skills and learn how to budget our money! Our students every week vote for a "student of the week" that gets put on the $20 bill! Our money is placed in the "bank" which was provided by your generous donations. It's truly everyone's favorite part of class. We wouldn't be able to stay organized without it.”

  • Teachers Help Teachers!

    Funded Sep 9, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation. The resources you helped make available to us truly had a lasting impact. You not only brought fun learning centers to life, but with your help, I was able to help meet the needs of ALL learners in the class. All of my students expressed a love for learning and your donation is a large part of why.

With the money, we were able to complete many hands-on activities that made a lasting impact. I have students already visiting telling me they miss our class and want to do more project-based learning. We were able to learn about area using cheez-its, build and work on SEL skills, as well as access books that helped students learn how to read. Thank you for thinking of us and for helping make a difference!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kydon

  • Welcome to Our Happy Place!

    Funded Aug 23, 2023

Thank you SO much for your incredibly kind donation. Due to your support, I've been able to provide a safe, welcoming space for 12 students with special needs last school year, but now for 20 new students this upcoming school year. Students walked into the room with awe and the first thing they said was "I LOVE this room". It's all because of your help and support that we've been able to make this space special for the kids. Students especially loved the skin tone colored pencils as they were able to draw pictures of themselves and their families and feel reflected. Thank you so so much.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kydon

  • TPT Resources

    Funded Nov 28, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Our school is taking the initiative to more towards more center-based learning. Our class is filled with wonderful students, all with different strengths and interests. Thanks to your generous donation, we have been able to make learning more small-group centered and meet the needs of each student better.

Center time is our class' favorite time. Our class loves to be immersed in their own learning through games, partner work, and having a role. Students rave over getting the opportunity to showcase what they know through centers. This would not have been possible without your help.

    Thank you so much.”

  • Learning in Color

    Funded Nov 12, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation. Because of you, my students can now have supports for them in color, which is very exciting for them. This has included stories on their reading levels, fun math and ELA centers, colored scaffolds to keep in their notebooks, and newsletters to go home. We've also been able to print out things they've designed themselves in color, making their eyes light up and making students more proud of their work. We are very grateful that you have allowed us to be more excited about learning through our technology.”

  • Headphones for Learning

    Funded Oct 12, 2021

We can't thank you enough for contributing to our learning. We absolutely love our new headphones and the space we have to keep them organized. Now that we all have a pair of headphones, we are able to learn in a quiet environment with limited distractions, giving us the opportunity to do our best when working online. We use our headphones every day, and many students ask to use them before we need to because it's increased our love for working online. One of our favorite activities we're able to do now has books read aloud to us on MyOn or Epic! during our reading workshop period.

The most exciting part was opening the headphones, and now have a pair for each student. We wrote our number correlated with our Chromebooks on them and it's so nice to have something so nice individualized. Some students were filled with so much joy, that many of them brought the BOXES home without the headphones, just to show family. We can't thank you enough, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!”

    Ms. Kydon

  • There's A Book For Everything!

    Funded Sep 27, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation. Because of you, so many of our kids have been excited to learn no matter the setting. We initially started out as a hybrid learning class, attending school in-person every other day. The books we received helped us visualize the new (temporary) norm and make sense of our feelings about the pandemic. We also immediately dove in and learned about our own cultures and those different than us. I've had quite a few kids who were discouraged to read or didn't enjoy reading because it is challenging for them, but once we got these books, smiled, and they wanted to read a book over and over again simply because they saw themselves in the characters. During lunchtime, many of them would want to eat AND look through the books again to see themselves represented. During remote learning, we start the day with emotional check-ins and kids often want to hear a read-aloud of a book we have in our library. Your donation has helped a lot of my kids feel seen, represented, and understood. It has opened their eyes to new cultures and helped them accept those around them. It has created constant open discussions helping kids express their feelings and make sense of living during this difficult time. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kydon

The school I work in is in Washington Heights and 91.9% of the student population is Hispanic, 6.1% African American, .9% two or more races...etc. Representation in children's books is imperative. It helps kids relate to literature and feel comfortable in their own situations, their own skin, and their own environment. Our school is following a blended learning model and no matter how instruction is being implemented, read-alouds are always everyone's favorite part of the day. These books can help us understand what it is that we feel, come to terms with change, learn how to cope with change, and reinforce acceptance and strength in diversity. Books help spark conversation and help kids reflect on the messages portrayed in them. In today's climate, it is so important we have continuous conversations to practice self-love no matter the color of your skin, and teach kids to accept those different than ourselves.
