Special education students especially at the high school level are very independent and bright young adults. However, one of the most common barriers in students with adhd, autism spectrum disorders, and social-emotional disabilities is in the area of Executive Functioning. Getting my students organized and creating materials for use in their classes that will KEEP them organized can often mean the difference between a student passing or failing. I use professional development as a means to constantly stay up to date on the most current studies, pedagogy, and strategies when it comes to Special Education.
