My students work well with visual schedules, a first/then board, PECS or picture exchange communication system, and other visual support in order to support language. I have kids in moderate-severe autism in Kindergarten and for most of them, visuals speak louder than words. I need a paper cutter, laminator, and dry erase materials for these visuals. Some of them are able to express 2-3 words but most of them do gestures in order to express themselves. Distance learning has been challenging for my kids since they are still learning to go to school from home. They are amazing kids who try the best that they can to stay focused as the parents do every effort to support them.
