I want to take the time to explain how your donation has impacted the lives of two of our scholars.

Since both children are learning remotely, this technology allows our scholars to access the instruction we deliver on a daily basis and the many apps we use to support their learning. For instance, the tablets have made it possible for our scholars to connect with us (their teachers) on our Google Meet platform. This is where our scholars receive their daily instruction. The children are able to access and use the Pear Deck platform to demonstrate their learning on these tablets and the scholars can access learning apps like iReady and IXL which support reading and mathematical practice. They are also able to access many books on the apps Raz Kids and Epic!

The most exciting thing for our scholars is the ability to connect with their teachers. Even though we cannot be together physically, we are together virtually and this is important to our families and the children.

Kenny has been especially glad to have the tablet because he did not have a device at the beginning of the school year. He was a child that was (and still is) solely remote, meaning he would not physically attend a brick-and-mortar school. It was urgent that he receive a device. Kenny and his mother were very grateful for this tablet because this meant he would be able to receive instruction just like his remote peers.
