On behalf of my students, I want to thank you for your generous donation of a document camera.
Now writing instruction is more accessible to them as they are able to follow my samples in real time. They can see the importance of planning and editing and how even experienced writers do not get it right the first time. Having them see when I cross out words and insert new ones to improve my paragraphs, makes them more confident about their own writing. They see that errors are part of the process.

This classroom project was brought to life by Kleenex® Brand and 2 other donors.

With online learning, a document camera could help students access reading and writing content with real time support. Students will be able to interact with me, while together, we develop sentences, clauses, and whole paragraphs. I have had this plan in my head for months, since writing over pages of text while sharing a screen and interacting with students has proven impossible. The real time experience of writing, correcting, and erasing text (as on a white board in the classroom) is lost in a remote learning environment, but a document camera could do the trick!
