My young students are becoming our future STEM leaders. They will be using these materials in a variety of STEM and literacy activities, including small group STEM stations where students further explore science and engineering topics after we read stories based on those topics in our large group setting, including such topics as lights and shadows, animal habitats, and learning to problem solve and persevere. The stories will help students connect what they discover during the STEM station exploration to things they experience in real life. By donating to this project, you will be encouraging these naturally curious young readers to further develop their sight word knowledge and vocabulary through the use of the books and to explore the concepts of engineering with the magnetic building pieces, including imagining, planning, creating, and improving their designs, so that one day they may become future leaders in STEM professions. The books will also help them develop the vocabulary and build their background knowledge to allow them to communicate with each other about their learning which is such an important skill in our classroom. Learning to communicate through these shared STEM experiences will help them in the future in so many ways.
