  • Rewarding Good Behavior and Work

    Again I can't thank this community enough for the generosity provided to myself and many others who seek additional assistance with materials for their classroom.

    This project was created to help offset out of pocket expenses I have as a NYC teacher. I typically provide small incentive rewards for students who help in the class and students who do well or show good progress.

    By doing so, the students also see that good behavior is noticed and rewarded.

    Being that we use Google Classroom daily, and I have four classes of roughly 30 students, I do seek help daily with handing out and collecting computers.

  • Keeping Our Screens Clean, and Pencils Sharp

    I want to thank you all for helping me fund this project. The department of education used to provide computer wipes and stopped providing them for our classes two years ago.

    I am a Google Suite certified teacher and use the computers daily. I am a middle school teacher; so keeping screens and keyboards clean is a challenge with four classes using one set of computers daily.

    The individual wipes make it easy to distribute and clean computers every week.

    Having an industrial pencil sharpener is a must as well. Most students are not prepared daily and we have been provided thousands of traditional number 2 lead pencils; so a sharpener is a must.”

  • Help Me, Help Them

    I want to thank you all for the donations that allowed me to reach a goal and provide students with headphones and posters for the classroom.

    Students use provided computers daily and many of them need audio to hear the text or translate it in their home language using the accessibility features on chrome.

    We often post videos to help students that need more visuals to understand concepts as well.

    The anchor charts are very beneficial to our students. They are clearly posted in the room for students to reference year round.

    The students thank you all as well. This is really an amazing organization.”
