Funded Oct 16, 2022I am so thankful for those that donated to this project! My students have been putting all of the art supplies to great use!!! We used items such as the markers, crayons, paper, and construction paper daily. They love to use the construction paper crayons because they work so well on on the construction paper and the colors are so vivid! We just recently used the oil pastels in 4th grade to create blended pastel sunsets. They turned out so nicely and the students were amazed by the way the oil pastels could blend. Our next project is a watercolor painting and my students cannot wait to start using the watercolor paint pans.”

1st Grade Tech
Funded Oct 11, 2021This project has been such a life saver in my classroom. My student's use their headphones daily to complete online math and reading activities that have sound. It is so nice to finally have a full set so that way all of my students can hear their activities. We are so lucky to be receiving the Scholastic News articles! These are a big hit in our class. My students get so excited when they hear that we will be doing a Scholastic News for social studies for the day. Thank you so very much as we wouldn't have these things without your kind donations.”

Funded Feb 9, 2021This project was a lifesaver for me as a first year teacher. These donations allowed me to create individual pencil boxes for each student in my class. Their pencil boxes were filled with highlighters, pencils, scissors, glue, earbuds, etc. These supplies were used multiple times a day for all of our subjects and lessons.
My students were thrilled to have their own pencil boxes full of their very own supplies. Their faces lit up coming into school for the first time since kindergarten because of COVID-19.”

Distance Learning Made More Clear
Funded Sep 20, 2020I am extremely thankful to have been gifted this project for my students. I really do not know what I would have done had I not received my document camera. This is my first year teaching and it certainly has been a totally different experience than I expected, being that I am teaching 1st grade with full distance education. Initially, teachers only started the year in the school building where I could use my document camera provided in the school building, but eventually all teachers were required to teach from home. Luckily, this Donors Choose project has been a life saver for my class and I!!!
I use the document camera every single day. My students are given supplies at the beginning of each month with the papers we are working on. I am able to present those same papers through my document camera so that way my students and I can work together in real time on each paper that we have. Without the camera I would not be able to share and write on any of our physical paper copy assignments with my students through my computer! Having the document camera and getting to work together on papers really makes a huge difference in the quality of instruction.”
