My project this year is to turn my office space into a Social Emotional Learning classroom for all students on campus. Our school is focusing on SEL curriculum as a whole and we have adopted many spaces on campus into this theme (murals, bathrooms, garden areas). We have been given absolutely no budget and our SEL space is lacking in furniture. We are looking for shelves to hold our books, bean bags for students to decompress, and fidget tools to assist in calming down strategies. Our classroom will promote the 5 SEL strategies of Self-awareness, Self- management, Social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making.
