The availability of interesting and intriguing books is essential to developing lifelong loving readers. The books in this project will allow my students access to diverse literature. My school does not have a library on campus, so the only way for our students to receive access to physical books comes from us, the classroom teachers. These books will give students that access they need to become lifelong lovers of reading. It is my goal to create a love for learning, and these supplies will help me do that. Whiteboards allow me as the teacher to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work and collaborate with peers in a meaningful way. The use of whiteboards has always been a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math. I have in the past used whiteboards that were provided by my last schools. This year I am at a brand new school and these supplies have not been provided. These will be a game changer in my current classroom. Fractions are fun! Fractions are a large part of the content that I will be teaching my 4th graders this year. To some students, fractions are a very difficult, abstract, and stressful concept. By providing hands-on visual fraction tools for my students, I hope to alleviate the fear and stress that surround the dreaded word, fractions.
