  • Abilities and Inclusion

    Funded Mar 17, 2021

We do the books donated we were able to create our little library. This is a place where students can relax, read a book, and de-escalate. If the student is having a rough time, they are able to access this place in the room. Also, students are able to see themselves in the books and see representation in the classroom. It has also a function for visitors in our classroom to see and get an idea of how to include representation in their classrooms. Students enjoy seeing the books and browsing them.”

  • File Folders

    Funded Sep 25, 2020

We want to thank you for providing the materials for our classroom. Even through distance learning we have been able to learn and practice our skills. We have been able to practice our sounds and letters by using the mats. The laminating sheets have helped us laminate our mats and we have been able to use them. Also, we have been able to laminate our sorting items. This has helped us to practice our sorting of healthy foods and unhealthy foods. Also, we have been able to practice our patterns. Laminating the sheets have been useful for our families. We have been able to reuse them during our asynchronous time also. We also have been able to reuse them several times to practice. We also enjoy doing our arts and crafts with the help of the materials and our families. Our families have been engaged more because every family has their own materials. By using our arts and crafts materials, we have been practicing our fine motor skills. We want to thank you again for your support because without it we wouldn't have the materials to work at home. Thank you again!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Bello

Since my student's disability is severe, they can't access material online. It is difficult for them to engage in a computer for a long time. Also, they required one to one assistance and some parents are not able to log in. They need to go to work or have other siblings at home. My students required a lot of hands-on activities and materials. I'm providing them with packages every two weeks. I'm making them file folders to take home and practice. I'm printing materials for them and laminating it. We are working on matching colors, letters and being able to recognize their name. These materials will help me build more file folders for them, adapt books for them, and material to work at home.
