  • Sensory Organized Classroom

    Funded Aug 27, 2024

My class and I are loving the new beanbag for our sensory needs. Students read, do worksheets and take a calming moment on the beanbag. As for the desk organizers, it helps that each student's chair is labeled with their name and an extra storage space. It is so necessary in a classroom with special needs for well defined and organized spaces!

One of my favorite memories of one particular student using the beanbag was today when he chose to use it appropriately for his work station and break area. He has particular sensory needs and loves warm fuzzy fabric so it was perfect for him to take a break and to alternately get to work on it! Thank you so much for your kind donation - it is truly appreciated and we use the materials each and every day!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sue

  • Brain Food for Middle School

    Funded Sep 26, 2021

Thank you so very much for making this project possible. My students were so enthusiastic to earn their points to purchase the snacks you've graciously contributed to our classroom store. Your generosity has made their snacks available and the students were so much more eager to participate and grow in our learning environment.

The kids loved everything from the oreos to the kind bars, and they are still working hard to earn the snacks each and every day. Thank you so much for supporting my classroom and my larger school community.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sue

  • Multicultural Books

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

Thank you so incredibly much for funding this project. My students were thrilled to have a book that honors their home language, Spanish in Dreamers by Yuyi Morales. They loved the theatrics and journey of the main character in The Rain Stomper by Eric Velazquez.

My students learned new vocabulary words such as immigrant and reflected on language and cultural barriers in Dreamers. My students wanted to be like Jazmin in The Rain Stomper and conquer their fears by passion.

The art supplies were put to good use too! my students love to draw and the modeling clay we used is perfect for their sensory needs. Your donation has truly gone a long way.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sue

My students have been requesting new books every week, however, we have a very limited selection in the classroom that are not always appropriate for my readers. Currently, the books we have do not cover the amount of students we have because the levels of the books also are either too easy or too difficult for the students in the class. These books will help my students feel represented so they are engaged in reading. They should become inspired to become better readers and deserve to see themselves in the stories.
