  • Of Mice and Chromebooks

    I am thankful for your support with this project. Your generosity allowed this project to go from a dream to a reality! Technology has become an important part of the 21st century classroom. Your support for this project allowed my students to have the technology tools they need to succeed in the classroom.

    When I told my students that our project had been fully funded, their excitement was uncontainable. My classroom was eager to use our new wireless mice and headphones once they arrived. I was filled with immense joy seeing my students use their new tools to help their learning.

    I was inspired to make this project when I saw my students struggling to use the touchpad on their Chromebooks. Simple things like navigating our digital apps were difficult for them. With our new wireless mice, my students have become more tech savvy. My students are able to use our digital manipulatives with more ease. It has allowed our classroom to incorporate more digital assignments as well. The headphones have also been a welcomed addition to our classroom, especially for my students who need reading supports. With our new headphones my students are able to listen to audio books when working in centers. They are also able to have text read to them when they need the extra support.

    All of this has been possible because of your support and belief in this project.”

    Thank you so much for your support with this project! Your donations allowed this project to become a reality. From the moment our new flexible seats came in, my students were eager to use them. Their excitement when I revealed our classroom's new floor seats and pillows filled me with great joy.

    Because of you, my students are now able to have a much needed choice in their seating preference! My students can now create a learning environment that best fits their needs. The flexible seating has given my students a greater amount of autonomy and comfort that helps them stayed focused and engaged in their learning.”

Currently, some of my students struggle using the mousepad on their Chromebooks. In some cases, the mousepads do not work properly anymore. Most of my students do not own a headset either which can make it difficult to focus when working independently. These issues can make it difficult for my students to actively engage in their learning. Having a headset and mouse for their computer will provide each of my students with the tools they need. These past couple years have shown us the importance of technology in the 21st century. As students of the digital era, it is essential for my students to continue to develop the skills that will help them navigate the digital world. To do this, my students need appropriate tools and resources.
