Board games are a great way to practice receptive and expressive language skills. Students with learning difficulties need multiple opportunities to interact with others and be included in social settings. Playing board games is an excellent way to initiate conversations with students from the general education setting. These board games will allow my students to practice their social skills in a safe setting both at home with family or at school with teacher supervision and modeling. The development of social skills is key to fostering confidence. We can give students a variety of opportunities to learn and practice with these materials. Playing board games allows students with special needs to interact with family, make friends, and practice communication skills while having fun. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will allow me to make games for the students to take home and practice their new skills with their family. While at school my students can work on their individualized speech goals through the use of board games.
