• Out With the Old, in With the New

  Funded May 5, 2021

  Thank you for donations and helping me continue my education. Since the project was funded, I have since completed my program and earned my Masters in Early Childhood/Primary Education. Currently I am using the keyboard to clear my credentials at a local college.

  I bring this keyboard and iPad with me to the school. My students really like using a physical keyboard. I often have students who forget their iPad device and would always ask to use mine. They have been so used a touchscreen that they look forward to using the keyboard for their learning apps.

  I am looking forward clearing my credentials so that I may start working on being nationally certified. This project has helped me reach my goals so far and will continue to do so for the next few years.”

• In Printing Color

  Funded May 5, 2021

  I just wanted to thank you all for your generous donations. The Epson printer has been used a few times everyday. The printer is used to make copies of math and language arts lessons I have bought online for my students to practice on. We have done lots of social emotional activities that my students share with other students in our school.

  The color copies really make the activities fun and engaging. Instead of using black and white copies, I can print everything out in color. The students really love the random lessons in color and it engages them.

  I have a few students who really benefitted from the color copies. My students have to learn all their high frequency words, and the colors really helped them. They are able to recognize the words as well as refer back to them during writing time.

• First Classroom Library

• Enhancing Distance Learning Experience Using an iPad.

  I just want to start by thanking you all for your generous donations. The project you helped me find has made lessons engaging for all my students. The iPad allowed be to write directly on screenshots of their textbooks. The iPad allowed me to work out math problems with the students just as if we were in the classroom using a whiteboard. For Language Arts, it allows me to provide grammar instruction, phonics instruction, and annotating texts.

  The most exciting thing for the students about the iPad is using the camera as a projector. It allows us to do more arts and crafts. I am able to model activities which makes it easier for students to stay engaged. Once again, thank you all for your donations. It has really made a huge difference for my students who are Zooming as well as for the students who have been attending school in-person.”

• Meeting Our Basic Needs With Art Supplies!

  We hope that you are all doing well. Ever since we have received your generous donations, we were able to use these art supplies several times. We had previously received sketch books that we are doing art in. The most recent activity we did was for Easter. The students used their supplies to draw and paint their very own Easter Bunny along with Easter eggs.

  The students were very excited when they received their items. Most have been using the supplies on their own time outside of class. Some have even used up all the paint they got!

  Now that our school is opening up and students are coming into the classroom, we were looking into including more craft activities in the class. It has been difficult to do that through distance learning, but we hope to give that a try next.”

• Art of Writing

  Funded Sep 16, 2020

  We would like to say thank you all for generous donations during this difficult time. Because of your donations, my students have been using the writing notebooks 2 times a week. The notebooks have given them a dedicated space to share their ideas, opinions, and informational facts. The sketchbooks have made Friday's a fun day for art. The students have been sketching using tutorials. They are also using them as a canvas to paint on using art supplies they have received from other donations.

  When the students found out about the notebooks and sketchpads, they were very excited knowing that strangers have donated them the materials. Most of the students picked them up on the first available day for pickups at the school.

  As we get closer to going back into the classroom, I am hoping that we can start our unit on land forms. It will allow the students to create art pieces depicting the different land forms to go along with their writing.”
