I'm a first-year teacher trying to bolster my classroom toolkit on a shoestring budget. I'm working at a low income, rural school in southeast Wisconsin. I've been spending my own money on supplies and materials for labs and activities, but I can't currently afford a full set of these whiteboards and I don't want to blow most of my science budget on whiteboards. I've been making do with scratch paper, but I'd really like to get enough whiteboards so that each student can have their own during class. Individual whiteboards are an extremely useful tool to have in a classroom. Giving each student a whiteboard gives them the opportunity to write their ideas out and make learning visible to both the students themselves and their peers. As a student teacher last year, I saw my students successfully and meaningfully engage in whiteboarding activities and I want to bring that energy to my new classroom. I'm hoping to get a set so that every student in my class, as well as my students still learning from home, can each use one during class.
