Calm-Down Corner
Funded Mar 17, 2023On behalf of my students and I, I would like to thank you for your contribution to our Calm Down Corner.
So grateful for the materials for our new and improved "Calming Corner". The Calming Corner is a safe place where my students can go to calm themselves using pre-taught strategies or mindfulness materials. The goal is to give the student a "time away" so that his behavior does not escalate any further. The Classroom Calming Corner is a positive place that rewards students for keeping their emotions in check and using strategies to calm themselves so that learning can occur.
Because of your generous donation, The calming corner has helped my students pause and re-center physically and emotionally outside of their classrooms. It has assisted our students to deescalate emotions or their anxiety before they became too overwhelmed.
Again, we thank you for your generosity!
Sincerely,”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Delvalle
Working on Controlling Strong Emotions
Funded Dec 1, 2020You have provided a great way for my students to talk about their emotions. It's been difficult for many students who have lost a family member due to covid. The empathy games have help them with self-awareness and developed their social and emotional skills. These games have given my students the tools they need to deal with challenging situations, and cope with new environments (like remote learning). Teachers have expressed how much they appreciate the stress balls. Many students are suffering from anxiety. These stress balls have help them focus on the lesson and relief stress. Thank you!!”

This classroom project was brought to life by FamilyAlbum and 4 other donors.Welcome Back With a Wobble Using SEL
Funded Sep 21, 2020I would just like to take a moment and tell you how much my students and I appreciate this program and how much of an impact you have had. We thank you for the new editions added in our room. The bookshelf has helped me organize all of the educational games and books for the students which allows the process of cleaning up faster and the process of finding them faster as well. In addition, it makes the student happier and it allows me to teach them organizational skills and clean up skills.
As a school counselor, I sometimes have to counsel students with special needs or disabilities and they were so happy to have a place to sit and enjoy. The wiggle chairs have helped a lot of students with ADHD and its allowed students feel comfortable in the setting. When my students ask me where these items come from I explain how kind people donate their time and money to help us when needed. It shows them that people care about them, and that there is good in this world. During these times, where kids may not understand why we are going through all these problems programs like this and people like you allow them to have hope and shine that light during this dark time.
My next step with my students is to help guide them and get them through these tough times. To keep their social and emotional state at its best and to build them up.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Delvalle
