Sensory Space
Funded Nov 28, 2023I can't say thank you enough for your donations to help get this sensory space in my classroom. As i mentioned in my description, we have many students with high needs and that need to move their bodies in ways that we previously couldn't, due to not being able to access the spaces.
Since introducing our sensory space, there has been a lot more safe body movements in the classroom and a decrease in behaviors, such as climbing furniture. Children are also advocating for themselves and are coming and asking teachers when their body needs to move, to use our sensory space.
A person from our management team came and saw the area, before we introduced it, and began crying, mentioning how amazing it was and wished that teachers would have been able to provide a space like it for her when she was young.
We have had other people come see and observe and take pictures to figure out how to replicate the area in their spaces.
It has been such a great change in our classroom, and just what we needed.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Lora

Funded Jan 30, 2023Than you again for this extraordinary gift that you have provided for this classroom. We have very much enjoyed our ipad and it has made things significantly better and smoother in our classroom. We use our ipad multiple times a day for calming music, clean up songs, movement songs/videos, nap music, yoga, and virtual stories.
Our favorite part recently has been using it for kids yoga and following along with the movements- something we weren't able to do before without moving a giant desk, cord, computer and projector to the middle of the room, thus rearranging furniture.
We have so much more to explore with it, but the past couple weeks have made our transitions, and many other parts of our day, almost be seamless.
Thank you again!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Lora

Funded Oct 23, 2020I sincerely appreciate every single donation that was made. In my wildest dreams, i honestly didn't think anything was going to come of this. I was frustrated trying to use an ipad, given to me by work, to create meaningful visuals and to use it to teach with as it was so limited. Although i'm still learning how to use the laptop, as there's so much more possibility, i've had great success at being able to see more of my children at once, creating viusals easily, and being able to create slideshows that are engaging and entertaining.
I'm not entirely sure that my students are fully aware of the change, as i've gotten some new students, but they have been very patient with me learning how to do things a bit differently with the new laptop. Which is a great lesson in patience, for us both, as well as learning it's okay to make mistakes!
The most recent thing i've been able to do is to create videos of me actually doing the lessons that i'm asking children to do. This wasn't as easily possible before, as i had to prop the ipad up somewhere. Now i can see myself doing the lesson. I've also been able to create slide shows for our letter of the week, showing our letter/pictures fly in and using animation, which has been fun for the kids to watch and they've been super engaged and excited to learn about letters!
Again, this was unexpected but so very much appreciated as it's made my teaching and work life so much easier and less time consuming.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Lora
