I teach high school students with autism and other significant disabilities in the heart of New York City. Our students are on a schedule in which they transition to different classes throughout the day. This year, I am teaching Activities of Daily Living, or ADL. The students are eager to learn about crucial life skills. We will be touching upon home skills, management skills, organization, and other skills that we often take for granted (or sometimes loath doing!). My hope is that these lessons make an impact and transfer to their own lives in adulthood.
