  • Small Groups, Big Impact!

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

First and foremost I want to extend my sincerest gratitude for your donation. Your generosity has been nothing short of a blessing for my classroom. Having this small groups table has helped our community grow. Not all students are able to sit through a whole group lesson and grasp the concept immediately. So being able to sit with these students in a group to reinforce the concept that was taught makes a huge difference in academic outcomes.

My students have grown to love the small group sessions. They treat it like the "privileged time" with the teacher which makes the sessions even more successful! :) I hope you continue to bless other classrooms the way you have blessed mine.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Alcantara

Thank you for your generosity in donating to my project! Because of your donation, my classroom is able to have such an amazing printer which makes my life as a teacher 1,000 times better! My students were also able to obtain personal headphones. Having headphones in the classroom has been a lifesaver. Students are able to concentrate on their technology period. I whole-heartedly appreciate everything you do in helping the future of our children by donating to projects for teachers like me!”

    With gratitude,

  • Classroom Meeting Area

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

My students and I are very grateful for our new resources. Because of your donation, we were able to purchase a dry-erase easel board. With this easel, I model to the students my lessons and students are able to come up to the board and express their understandings. If I wouldn't have had this easel, showing my students how to do math would've been very tedious!

When the items first arrived and I unpacked them, my students were so excited! They said "wow! you got us a new easel?". The giant magnetic looseleaf style sheet is especially helpful to model for the students how their writing should look on their notebooks. When they saw the rug, they were even more excited! To this day, they love sitting on the rug for some independent reading time, or just to take a break from their uncomfortable seats all day.

The next steps for my students and I are to continue using the classroom rug for mini-lessons, small group instruction, and independent reading. Day in and day out we will continue to use the easel for instruction and classroom participation. My students and I will forever be appreciative of your kindness.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Alcantara

  • Education Is Our Passport to the Future!

    Funded Jun 28, 2021

Thanks to you, our classroom has been able to have bilingual books as part of our library where they can perfect their reading skills in both Spanish and English. The printer and ink in our classroom has made it possible to print many worksheets that students need for ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies. We also use the printer to print homework sheets where students can work with their families at home on what was worked on during the school day. With the laminating machine and sheets, we were able to make a lot of sight word cards for all subjects in English and Spanish. These sight word cards are for student use throughout the day. Thank you for supporting our pubic school classrooms of NYC!”

Our classroom consists of 20 3rd grade students from a low-income community. We are a Dual Language classroom embracing English and Spanish as part of our learning experience. Since my students all come from low-income homes, it makes it really difficult for them to have access to basic school supplies. Donating to my project will allow our students the basic necessities of the classroom!
