Earth Without Art Is Eh
Funded Mar 26, 2025Thank you so much for your generosity in supporting this project. My students have not been able to use our classroom easel, as it has been cracked, so I can’t wait to see their faces light up when I set up this beautiful new art easel you helped to purchase! I am grateful for the DonorsChoose community because most of the donations received were matched, and this project was funded quickly. Thank you all again for supporting public education and for your generosity toward my students!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Valentino

Funded Sep 13, 2020Thank you so much for your generous gift! My Pre K inclusion class, and their families really appreciate your generosity in donating the materials to keep our class safe during this pandemic.
As a special education PreK teacher, I am so thrilled to come into my class each day, and see the excited faces of the school's youngest students.
Our school is using a bended model, which means that our students are in the school building for two to three days and they learn remotely for 2-3 days each week.
On the days that they are in-person, they come into the building in the morning, excited to see their friends and teachers, happy, and ready to learn.
We have about 10 children in each cohort. The small groups have really allowed them to develop a strong bond with each other, and with the staff in the classroom. Seeing them so happy makes the extra work and precautions seem so worthwhile.
Throughout these past few months, we haven't had any child or staff member in our classroom get sick or test positive for the corona virus. I firmly believe the use of masks, constant hand sanitizing, and the heavy duty air purifier has all helped to keep our class safe.
Our students' families were so reassured sending their children back in the classroom knowing that we are taking every extra precaution to keep them healthy, and safe while learning.
Right now, all NYC public schools have gone fully remote, as the infection rate in New York has risen. We are optimistic that in person learning will resume in the near future.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your donation will help to keep our students safe and happy when they return to the school building.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Valentino
