Expression Through Art - The Bob Ross Odyssey

Thank you for your generous donations that allowed for the purchase of the art supplies needed for our Expression through Art - The Bob Ross Odyssey. Your contributions have made it possible for our students to experience the joy of painting and unleash their creativity on canvas. The students were very excited as the boxes of supplies started arriving in the classroom. Art provides numerous benefits to students. It creates a sense of enjoyment and can be an outlet for self-expression and creativity.

We recently recreated the Bob Ross art, "Dreaming of Snow". Students had an opportunity to use the new canvas boards, acrylic paints and brushes that were donated. We spent the day using our new tools, practicing how to use them and creating some beautiful artwork. Bob Ross holds a special place in our hearts as many of his landscape paintings were inspired by the snow, mountains and lakes he saw while stationed at Eielson Air Force Base, and other places in Alaska. We appreciate how Bob Ross, through is Joy of Painting videos, has shown us that there is a world of artistic possibilities. His encouraging words have taught us not just how to paint, but also how to embrace the art of life itself. As Bob would say, "we don't make mistakes, we just have happy accidents."

We plan on continuing to use the art supplies throughout the year. Ours students now have the tools they need to explore, experiment and discover their unique artistic voices.
