These books will be used to create a classroom library filled with baskets organized by topic, author, or character. Students will be allowed to self-select the books that interest them most and "read" during a daily Readers' Workshop. This collection of books includes titles with strong storylines, memorable characters, engaging plots, repetitive language and very strong picture support that will support students' recounting of the story. I will confer with students while they're reading in order to compliment the things they are doing well and give them one tip to improve their work. With repeated practice, students will soon see themselves as readers that engage with books just as adults do!

About my class
