  • Seats for Success!

    Funded Feb 5, 2024

Now that my class has had their wobble cushions and wobble stools, I am seeing positive results. I have students I thought would benefit most from these items. I'm so glad I bought a few different kinds and have discovered which I like better and which seem to be best suited for the children. They have been able to try both and see which is most comfortable and helps them focus better, in addition to sitting more safely. I have had other students who I did not consider for the wobbling that have asked to use them and have expressed that they find sitting more comfortable now. I feel that this flexible seating is helping my students focus and be more successful.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. McCasland

  • Distant Learners Benefit From a Variety of Reading Material!

    Funded Oct 22, 2020

My students are enjoying the new seats and cushions. I am noticing less falling backwards from rocking on their seats and see some better focus. Hopefully we will continue to see progress!

I have been allowing students to select whether they would like to use a wobble seat or one of the different wobble cushions. So far one kind of wobble seat seems to be the preferred item. We will be alternating who uses what and find the most effective tool for each child. It's nice to see the students understanding how their bodies impact their learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. McCasland

My students will be participating in full distance learning. After teaching remotely in the spring I learned the struggle of finding a variety of reading material for my students. Many companies and publishers were very gracious to offer their services for free, but that has changed for this school year. I am hoping to get a variety of reading opportunities to use as a whole class and for independent reading for my students. Scholastic makes great resources for this! Storyworks offers both fiction and non-fiction reading passages. Additional magazines will enhance my science and social studies curriculum.
