As a school psychologist, working in one of the most segregated cities in the country, I understand the importance of positive, daily, affirmations and the positive effect they can have on a student’s academic success and social-emotional well-being. I have found this to be ever more difficult in the “virtual world” of teaching. COVID, coupled with the current fight for social justice, has made the importance of instilling hope of brighter days ahead a forefront of my practice. I am hoping to provide a copy, of this award winning book, to each of my, African American, male, students as a daily reminder of all the good they are in this world!

About my class
