  • Raider Cafe Pos System Update

    Funded Mar 13, 2025

Once again your generosity is overwhelming. We simply could not do this project without your financial gift.

Our students are getting real-world experiences by working at Raider Cafe. These skills are transferrable to any work place.

I hope that you realize our Mahalo is not enough to show you our gratitude for supporting our keiki.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Anderson

  • Raider Cafe Cash Register

    Funded Oct 23, 2024

Aloha and thank you for your support! Our new cash register is making a big impact on our daily operation of Raider Cafe. We went from a simple cash box to a piece of equipment that is found in nearly every store in our community.

One of our students was quick to volunteer and researched how to set the cash register up and program all of the transactional keys. Each student has a clerk login and has been trained how to operate the cash register. All of the cafe items have been coded and can be keyed up with the touch of one button.

Maybe the best part of the whole process was having the students figure out how to correct their mistakes and learn the process of voided transactions. This required them to use critical thinking skills and come up with solutions that would work every time.

At the end of each shift our cash register must balance with our financial software. There is a sense of joy and accomplishment when the two numbers are equal.

Once again, we could not have these experiences without your financial support. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Anderson

  • Headlight Restoration

    Funded Sep 16, 2024

Aloha and Mahalo for your generous donation to our headlight restoration project. For the past two years our entrepreneurship 1 students have been learning how to operate a professional car detailing business. Over the course of the semester, we detail 20+ teachers cars as part of our project. The students take care of all aspects of the business from marketing, task processes, accounting, and customer care. This project has been a real favorite for our students because they get to learn about running their own business.

This year we added a value add service to our menu of options. We noticed that many of our teacher's headlights were cloudy and turning yellow. Our students researched viable options to improve the clarity of the headlights and came up with a solution using the products that were donated through Donor's Choose. We just finished our testing phase and have concluded that our solution works great!

Our next step is to provide this option to all of our teachers in need for no cost. The best part is that our students will have to figure out how to market this service...another win for this project!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Anderson

  • Entrepreneurial Popcorn Emporium

    Funded Apr 10, 2024

Aloha and Mahalo from Kauai High School. I wanted to reach out and send you our sincere thanks for supporting our popcorn project. We could not have done it without you!

The Entrepreneurship 1 students were tasked with operating a popcorn business for the past month. Each group had to research information about popcorn and come up with a standardized menu offering. We even had a guest speaker come in from a local resort that offers popcorn as an appetizer to their restaurant guests.

From there our students learned how to pop the corn using the supplies and equipment that you generously provided. There were days of pure chaos as the students figured out how to fulfill the orders that their businesses generated. We simply could not keep up with the demand from our teachers and students for the salty treat. These are lessons that no text book can deliver, so thank you for the wonderful experience.

We heard from many teachers and students how much they appreciated the popcorn snacks throughout the day. So thank you again for your generous donation and thank you for putting smiles on literally hundreds of high school faces...a near impossible task!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Anderson
