TpT Resources for 6th Graders!
Funded Nov 15, 2022As a math teacher, my words are not the strongest and I sometimes struggle to get the words out, but I am going to do my best. With your contribution, my students have been impacted with positive academic work and positive financial skills that I hope they will take with them to adulthood.
Positive academic work has been through small tutoring classwork that I have been able to find on TpT. As you see in the picture, I am able to pull small groups in the back of my class and provide resources that support them. With the contribution, I have been focused more on providing that support instead of creating content that other teachers have beautifully created. At my school, we also have been able to start content tutoring during the school day. I pushed for the extra time in school and my leadership followed through. I am now able to provide small group tutoring Monday-Thursday and with the funds I have received, I am able to provide materials for students and families to support their children at home.
We are also starting a financial literacy project next week that I am really exciting. With the project I found on TpT, kids are going to practice looking for a job based on educational experience, applying for a job, deducting federal and state taxes from gross income, paying for bills, and making real adult choices by deciding what "wants" they can afford after they paid all of their bills and took care of their needs.
I am excited for what's to come for the remaining of the school year. Thank you for your generosity.”
With gratitude,

Funded Dec 1, 2020THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY TO HELP EXPOSE MY KIDS TO MATH IN A FUN WAY.
We are currently working on our third unit which deals a lot with expressions and inequalities. There are so many great resources created by other amazing math teachers that can help my students think of math in a fun away. I really hope that my kids find joy learning during this pandemic that has been harsh to so many of us. With the pandemic, learning has become a lot harder. To increase class engagement, I really was on a mission to find engaging activities. And you helped bring that to live.
One new thing I'm exciting about it introducing a curriculum that hasn't been taught in past years. And that is financial literacy. As a math teacher, I believe that it is my duty to not only prepare students for state exams and what not, but to prepare them for life outside of school. In Chicago, we don't have materials to teach financial literacy. But through TpT, I was able to find some great curriculum from other teachers outside of Chicago.
So again, thank you so much for your help in bringing joy to the classroom and bringing financial literacy to the classroom. Much appreciation, 6th graders from Englewood.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Baylon
