The Apple That Keeps on Giving
Funded May 8, 2023Thank you so much for your donations. Students were able to use Cricut design space on the computer to make logos for water bottles and design a new school shirt.
Students then sold these items after school to help raise money for the PTO.
Without the help from you this would not be possible. The students were so happy and loved doing these projects. They even volunteered their lunches to work on it more. The facility was so impressed by the designs the students came up with and wanted to place orders for their own shirts.
It was so nice to see them enjoying themselves and helping to raise money for their school.”

Funded Jul 24, 2021Thank you so much for your donations to our classroom. With this iPad I have been able to allow students to present their work without having to stand in front of the class. We use it as an interactive tool when teaching small groups and even as a much needed whiteboard to do problems out on.
Students love when I give them the iPad to use and are able to show me different ways we can use it in the classroom that I did not even know existed. It is nice not to feel tied down to the projector all the time and be able to move around. I would not have this technology to use if it was not for all your generous donations.”

Supporting a Safe Return to Full-Time Learning
Funded Mar 25, 2021Thank you for your generous donations to help the Grade 7 students at the John J. Doran Community School in Fall River, Massachusetts. Your generosity has helped us make a smooth transition back to fully in person learning. Your donations allowed me to purchase essential supplies for my students and provide them with the supplies needed to transition back to hands on learning. My students have relied on these resourcess everyday.
Once I received my donated supplies, I got right to work putting together supplies for the students. The pencil bags and plastic folders travel with students from class-to-class and ensure that they are prepared for learning throughout the school day. We are currently in our probability unit and students have been putting these supplies to great use. We've used the dice and spinners everyday for the past month.
The white board easel and computer stand has made it easy for us to continue using stations within the classroom without the students having to share desks. It has also been an asset to allow the students who are still working from home to feel like they're still part of the classroom community.
When we began the school year students entered with a lot of anxiety about the new year. On top of this, most of our students come from low-income families, so asking parents to purchase school supplies for them is sometimes a financial burden. Upon receiving their "supply bags," some students mentioned that they felt more relaxed about the transition because they knew they wouldn't have to ask their parents to budget for school supplies. Additionally, they felt like they had the means to contribute positively to the class and their own learning.
On behalf of my students, we are forever and sincerely grateful. Thank you for helping to support my scholars during these unprecedented times.”

Funded Sep 5, 2020Thank you for your generous donations to help the Grade 7 students at the John J. Doran Community School in Fall River, Massachusetts. Your generosity has helped us make a smooth transition into our hybrid/remote learning model. Your donations allowed us to purchase essential supplies for our students and provide them with supply bags that include everything a student would need for a 21st century learning environment. Our students rely on these resources everyday.
Once we received our donated supplies, we got right to work putting together supply bags for students. These bags include hand-sanitizer, erasers, pencils, highlighters, headphones and dry-erase markers. These bags travel with students from class-to-class and ensure that they are prepared for learning throughout the school day. For example, in ELA the students have used the highlighters to color code sample essays for text-structure and in Math students have used the headphones to listen to important instructional videos involving math concepts.
When we began the school year students entered with a lot of anxiety about the new year. On top of this, most of our students come from low-income families, so asking parents to purchase school supplies for them is sometimes a financial burden. Upon receiving their "supply bags" on the first day of school, some students mentioned that they felt more relaxed about the transition because they knew they wouldn't have to ask their parents to budget for school supplies. Additionally, they felt like they had the means to contribute positively to the class and their own learning.
Unfortunately, we are transitioning back to a fully-remote learning model until at least January. However, students will be bringing their supply bags home with them to help continue to support their learning at home. Without your generosity, this would not have been possible and many of our students might have disengaged from their learning for the sole purpose of not having the means to be successful. For this, we are forever grateful.
On behalf of our students, we are forever and sincerely grateful. Thank you for helping to support our scholars during these unprecedented times.
