My diverse students of English Language Learners who are newcomers wanted to site see all around New York City. These newly arrived students lack the knowledge of their new environment. It is always beneficial for students to learn about the world around them. When students learn about their environment it provides opportunities for them to learn about their surroundings outside the classroom. It also helps them to make connections to the real world by practicing real world research. But due to the Covid 19 pandemic these trips will not be possible. If students use technology, such as a tablet they could visit and learn of New York City's attraction through the many different apps. The teacher will create a virtual class environment so that students are able to experience various virtual field trips visiting tourist attractions in New York City. Students can also take photos and even create videos of the different places in New York City to share with their class or other classes. This will require them to read, write and encourage students to use their oral language when communicating with others. The donation to this project will help my students with their reading, writing, and comprehension through technology to foster independent thinkers in many subject areas. My students will benefit from differentiating instruction while experiencing active learning.I can also create more interactive lessons that include visuals and audio to help students of all levels. In addition, tablets can be easily transported from one place to another for learning in which they can learn at home and in school.
