In order for a safe reopening my 45 occupational therapy students will all need their own fine motor kits with different tools so they can continue to develop their fine motor, visual motor, sensory motor, and sensory processing skills. With COVID-19 the safest thing is for them to each have their own kit. Some will be in the classroom and some will be learning at home. These kits and these items will help them achieve their maximum potential and strengthen their little fingers to succeed in and out of the classroom. My goal is for each student to have their own kit that includes activities such as pop beads that they can join and separate, tennis balls made into "pacman" that the students squeeze to open and "feed" mini erasers, plastic nuts and bolts to match and assemble, tweezers, puzzles, whiteboards, and sensory weighted vest to improve self-regulation and sensory processing skills. In addition, a laminator and laminating sheets will be a great help so my students can re-use worksheets in order to promote practice and repetition. All of these activities are great for improving fine motor skills, visual-motor skills, visual-perceptual skills, hand strength, coordination, endurance, and sensory motor skills. These skills are all important for daily activities in and out of the classroom. Thank-you for considering my project! Your donation is very much appreciated and will be helping students during this pandemic and for years to come.
