• Hands On STEM Explorations

  We have been having a fantastic time doing hands on science experiments in class. We have explored sink and float, states of matter, and life sciences by investigating life cycles. Students have learned about observing and recording data and making predictions. The kids have gotten a chance to use these skills in various ways.”

• Functional and Effective Classroom Displays

  We are using these resources to make displays that are appropriate for our students. We have made interactive bulletin boards to keep track of classroom jobs, our daily commitments, and center management materials.

  The students enjoy participating in activities with the boards. Each day they make commitments to focus on one of our classroom rules to focus on following. They take a sense of responsibility in participating in tracking classroom jobs as well as managing the number of people in centers. They often refer back to those visuals that they made when they are trying to problem solve.”

• Lighting Up Pre-K!

• Works of Art

  Funded Apr 6, 2022

  Our Art Show was a HUGE success. Every student in our school was able to create a creative art project. The supplies allowed for each class to study a different artist and create are inspired by them. Students were able to explore different modalities and learn art basics. This all culminated into our Outdoor Art Show celebration on May 24th, where students displayed their art for their families and friends.

  The students in our school were excited to explore art and be a part of the creative process. Hearing students react to using clay, oil pastels or even drawing on a canvas was a fantastic experience. Seeing the amazing things our students were capable of was the most rewarding of all.

  We have saved extra materials for future art explorations. We are now working on funding a light table for our classroom in order to explore our students STEM skills. We are excited for all the future possibilities.”

• Right in the Feels

  Once again I am in awe of the generosity around us. Me and my students are so lucky to have such a supportive group around us. This feelings center will help my students who have been isolated for almost 2 years and haven't been around other students. It will help them to identify and process their emotions which I think is something we could all use in these hard times. Thank you again!!!”

• Preparing for Kindergarten Independence!

  Funded May 1, 2021

  Our classroom will be fully functional this fall. With the seat sacks our students can have their own materials to lessen materials sharing. It will provide them with direction following skills that will be essential for them in Kindergarten. We are excited to start this year and get to start with a new group of kids and teach them these skills.

  We are excited to be able to focus on Journaling and prewriting skills this year with the journals that you so graciously helped us to get. We will be doing journaling daily. This is such an exciting year for our Pre K students. We are so excited to be growing with them and to share our growth with you all.

  Please keep an eye out for our summer Donors Choose project "Functional and Effective Classroom Displays" which is in the approval process currently. We would appreciate any help you could provide. Thursday August 12 will be a double match day by Donors Choose!”
