My project will bring students the materials that they require to develop specific cognitive and fine motor skills while learning at home. My students' abilities vary greatly. They function cognitively in the 4-36 month range. Some students are learning to count objects and to identify and sort by shape or color. They will be able to place the colored bears into the bowls of the same color. The Attribute blocks set will be used for students to learn to identify, sort, and match shapes. A few of my students are developing their ability to use their hands to grasp objects or explore textured materials. Some students have goals to simply react or respond to a touch, scents, or sounds. The multiple colors of construction paper, tissue, brushes and google eyes will assist students in developing eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills while completing craft projects. Scented markers are used to teach students to react to their environment by turning their heads or responding to the smell. Sensory brushes, bumpy balls, and other textured items will allow students to develop grasping skills, react to tactile stimuli, and teach them to explore with their hands. I plan to make supply boxes with all of these materials and deliver them to each student's house. This project will allow my students to continue learning at home.
