  • Help Me Celebrate Hispanic Heritage

    Funded Sep 21, 2024

Our students loved the scarves. They started grabbing their favorite colors and started dancing with them. We use them with songs in Spanish and English to teach them about body parts, colors, positional words and more.

When students made their own maracas and decorated them, they were so excited playing them to Hispanic Rhythms familiar to them. Families were invited to see students dance and got to make their own maracas with their children. Families shared about their favorite Spanish music and musicians.

Thank you for your help and support.”

  • Enhanced Block Center Materials

    Funded Mar 13, 2023

Our students are so excited to create and play in the block center everyday thanks to your support! Children have been using the soft blocks to represent their buildings, as well as stores, a representation of our classroom, a food stand, and more.

When our students first saw all the new materials they were so thrilled that wanted to play with all at once!

All the new material will be used in all of our Units of Studies Curriculum. Right now, students are learning about their 5 Senses. Students built a zoo for all the animals they received, the sounds animals make, their habitats, what they eat and much more.

    Thank you for your support!”

  • Butterfly Experts!!!

    Funded Mar 4, 2021

During the Pandemic, our students received each a caterpillar kit. Students and their families were so amazed that each had a chance to get their own butterfly kit. Students were able to see the metamorphosis of the butterflies with their families. They had the opportunity to draw the changes in their science journals and then share during our zoom meetings. Our students learned vocabulary words from a first hand experience. Students will apply what they learned in our class when they go to Kindergarten and they learn about life cycles. We were immensely grateful for your donation.”

  • Art and Math! A Great Combination

    Funded Nov 14, 2022

Thank you for helping us participate in a wonderful virtual field trip. Our students learned about colors, shapes and many more things. During our virtual field trip students were engaged in a color and scavenger hunt in the classroom, looked at beautiful pictures from the Eldridge Museum emphasizing in the different shapes and colors of the building. Thanks to you, our students created beautiful buildings with the magnetic shapes we received as well and were very excited to share their structures with family members in the afternoon. Thank you very much!”

  • Practicing Counting with Materials!

    Funded Sep 17, 2020

During remote learning, our students have been using their linking cubes to learn about math concepts. Now teachers are able to demonstrate and students are able to follow with the same materials the teacher is using at home.

Three classes are using the materials we received and when families came to school to pick them up, students were very happy and excited to play and learn with them.

Students have sorted their cubes by color, they have learned how to rote count to 10 using 1-1 correspondence, and they have learned the concept of 1 more using the cubes. The next steps will be to learn how to add and subtract with them.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rodriguez

The set of Unifix cubes will allow each student to have a good amount of different cubes to count and compare. During our first remote learning experience, our students at home had difficulty finding counters or objects to count and compare quantities. The erasable board will go hand in hand with the cubes because after counting and comparing, students would be able to write the numeral of the selected cubes. The erasable boards are great because they help us save trees, students can write comfortably without worrying about the space, and students can erase easily if they make a mistake. By donating to our project, you will be helping our students to access materials if they are remote learners; and if our students come to school you are also helping us staying safe without having to share materials that can be challenging to clean and disinfect.
