  • Supplies for Virtual Instruction & Learning!

    Funded Sep 3, 2020

The materials funded to my virtual classroom has truly given us a sense of normality. Whether I am using the different color sharpies that I use for notes or the pens to help me stay organized. It has made our class much brighter.

Being that our school district decided to remain virtual for the entire year, I am trying my best to be creative and incorporate activities that feels like the school we are used to. For example, I use computer paper to serve as chart paper under my document camera to take notes. The students love the use of different colors and it grabs their attention as we navigate this virtual setting.

I am truly grateful for the supplies and I plan to bring them with me as we prepare for in-person learning in the fall.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Williams

I absolutely LOVE the book, "Wonder", by R.J. Palacio! The book's origin story is what gravitated me towards it: the author's son cried after seeing a little girl with facial disfigurement and she made it worse by trying to avoid the girl and her family. A song by Natalie Merchant entitled, "Wonder", also gave her motivation to write. The incident resonated with her and she saw it as a lesson learned and a lesson to give. This year, with ALL that is going on, grace and understanding need to increase; I want my kids to read this book as a class to punctuate our Community Circle lessons (social-emotional learning) and develop a sense of community, even online. It is imperative!
