Funded Oct 13, 2021My class is an Autism class. They are easily distracted and can be disruptive to the teachers and students in class. We try to give them a positive outlet for breaks. Keeping them in a calm environment if they are overly stimulated and giving them a space for an active outlet when they are needing to let off some steam. With a variety of ways to help them stay on task and cope with day-to-day tasks. Slowly swaying back and forth? As humans, we often feel the need to move in order to focus!
The sensory items helped my students calm down to have a safe and healthy learning space. It helped them calm down if they are overly stimulated and also these are their outlet when they need to let off some steam. It's also helped them to stay on task and cope up with day to day tasks. These also good for brain development and crucial to students learning.
Thank you so much for all your donations.”

With the use of these manipulatives, my students will reach these goals and be better prepared for the next grade level.I believe that through learning literacy and Math, a family can be stronger and it will bring difference through the lives of my students. These coins and paper money will be used to help students learn basic money facts. Students will use the money in exchanging an item they wanted most as a rewards in our class store.

Funded Sep 22, 2021Money identification and money management are life skills that can be used throughout their youth, into adulthood.
The materials that I have requested for my students will help facilitate their learning of identifying and using money, correctly.
Some of my students with special needs learn by hands-on materials to help the concepts make sense. The financial literacy kits have just that! Hands-on materials for preschool through 2nd grade through 5th grade are included in each kit!
My students are engaged in a variety of projects with their money kits including how to save and spend money using a check depository for goods that they can purchase in the classroom store. Children have the opportunity to earn money throughout the day for academic and social accomplishments; much like an incentive-based tangible program.
Students are allowed to bring their money packets home to engage in a variety of at-home projects as well. It is hoped that family engagement will assist in keeping this project fun and ongoing so we can move into investing."”

Funded Sep 18, 2021The "Count on Me Money, Money" project has allowed students to interact, learn, play games, and participate in small and whole group settings. Math and Financial Literacy is an essential skill that is necessary for students to know, understand, and put it into practice.
These materials have allowed students to enjoy learning and have allowed students to have the opportunity to have fun while they are learning.
All of the students have enjoyed playing with the money, and becoming strong math students. For these lessons, they were so engaged that they didn't even notice the dismissal bell and begged to play again tomorrow.
My students used these materials to help them develop basic skills related to money(such as identification, value and counting money). They also used these materials to help them develop a deeper understanding of math concepts related to money. Money identification, understanding the value of different types of money, adding money, making change and learning how to manage money are concepts that are important for my students to learn to help them achieve many different goals in their lives.”

One Book and One Child Can Change the World
Funded Sep 19, 2020Scholastic Books are great tool to encourage students, families, and teachers to work together as we dive into remote learning this school year!
My students and their parents are working so hard to create a home school connection to continue their education, and I want to reach more in helping them to be successful during these times Distance Learning.
These books helped my students a lot to read virtually. They love reading and these helped them take to a faraway place experience a different world of adventure. Reading also improve their language and vocabulary. "Reading to children is a very joyous event and a way of fostering a relationship, as well as helping language development. And we don't have to wait until we're getting them ready back to school for hybrid learning. We can make it part of our regular routine."
Thank you for helping my students experience it.”

Funded Sep 15, 2020Every teacher loves laminators. I consider it a classroom necessity. A laminator can help you keep important paper cards from ripping or getting wet. It can help keep documents or photos safe and protected for years of use.
Student learning materials such as task cards and manipulatives can be used year after year when they are laminated. They are materials that students can physically hold and use which allows for hands-on learning. Student folders will be laminated to preserve the longevity of their use. Folders that are not laminated do not last nearly as long as folders that are laminated.
Student classwork and art will be laminated as parents love to keep their children's work and art. We will also be laminating projects, worksheets, and visual schedule to send home during this distance learning.”

Funded Nov 9, 2020Ipad is a very valuable classroom technology. Most teachers and students love iPads because it will increase collaboration such as group work. Students can work together on a project or presentation on the iPad and enjoy educational games together as well. This will also allow them to travel to just around the world through virtual field trips.
With an iPad and additional equipment, I will be able to provide my students with the best distance learning opportunities. The apps that I will be able to load onto the iPad will help me to create online lessons that not only engage my students in distance learning but face to face personal contact with them while not in my classroom. The best way to teach kids with Autism is through hands-on activities. With the iPad, I will be able to perform labs that students will be able to see in real-time and still be able to encourage in-depth questioning of the world around them. My goal for each of my students is to learn to explore and ask questions. Not being face to face with my students has made this goal hard to get across but with your help and these items, I can provide the best while being away from them. Thank you for helping my students have the best distance learning I can provide!!”
