The school where I teach is quite diverse in terms of the economic standing of some of my students. The combination of Covid-19 and the economic challenges facing some families at our school are making this project a necessity. Taking the "social" out of social studies, especially for younger students is a great hindrance to their success, and ultimately, their learning in my classroom. I have explored a few options of how I can continue to allow students to work in together on class assignments; and the best option I have found will be to allow them to distance in the classroom, by allowing them to zoom call each other across the room. I have requested a limited number of durable headphones for classroom use so that; A) students can have quality audio as they are trying to work together, and B) the students within my class that cannot afford a personal set of headphones can use a classroom set that will be sanitized after each use. Funding my project will be of great benefit especially to those who cannot afford headphones; as it will hopefully improve their endeavors academically, but will also help them to feel included with those who come to school each day with a personal set of headphones. I greatly appreciate your help with this!
