Help me reach and engage my amazing students from anywhere! During the spring, like many other schools nationwide, our school district switched over to remote learning due to COVID-19. The entire school community worked tirelessly to ensure that our students were engaged, motivated, and ready to learn even from their homes. During this time I met with my students via Zoom, where they worked hard to ensure that remote learning activities on Google classroom were being completed. Our class time on Zoom however was so much more than just about academics, but about their social and emotional wellbeing as well. For a lot of my students', our classroom is a place where they feel safe, loved, and supported every day so being able to meet on Zoom allowed us to all stay connected as a classroom family. During this time I faced many challenges due to technology.
A MacBook laptop would allow me to engage my students in high-quality lessons that they can access in the classroom or remotely.
This laptop could be used remotely and in the classroom. We are remote for the first 10 weeks of our new school year. With this laptop, I can pre-record lessons and instructional videos to provide a visual learning component for my students. The biggest component of this laptop is the clear reception that students would get. Lessons would no longer be choppy or fuzzy and I would no longer be in fear of being disconnected halfway through a lesson. In the classroom, students could use the MacBook to listen to read-aloud stories, watch engaging instructional videos, and translation apps could be used to better support students who are English Language Learners. I want my students to feel proud of themselves and be as successful as they can be.
