Teachers to the Rescue!
Funded Aug 29, 2022Thank you so much for your generosity in helping me reach my students with the lessons they need to be successful. Using resources such as Teachers Pay Teachers as allowed me to work "smarter not harder" and use creative materials that other teachers have already vetted.
The most significant benefit has been the ability to differentiate based on my students' needs. I have used teachers pay teachers resources to challenge high performing students while also supporting students with IEPs. It has been a great tool to have this year.
I truly appreciate your support in helping me teach my students this year.”

Funded Feb 10, 2022Thank you so much for the document camera I received this year with your support. It was an extremely useful tool in class that allowed us to model strong pieces of student work as well as use mistakes as a teaching tool. Both ends of the spectrum were invaluable for student growth.
In general, my students loved seeing their work get highlighted under the document camera. Even when the person remained anonymous it still seemed to resonate with the class to see the praise given out. This was especially true for students with IEPs as their confidence was boosted seeing their work being shown to the class.
Overall, I am so thankful to have this tool and look forward to doing so much more with it next year.”

Funded Dec 1, 2021Thank you so much for your support in helping me reach my students in unique and exciting ways this year. With the MacBook I received, I was able to plan and teach Desmos computer lessons that were engaging and academically challenging for students.
One thing I was most excited about was the ability to connect my new laptop to different places in my classroom like my Promethean board and my document camera to really highlight the work my students were doing this year. I was able to celebrate the work they were doing to help us make comparisons, show different ways of learning that works and even learn from out mistakes. Without a doubt, using technology allowed my students to learn at their own pace while still being challenged in many ways.
Overall, I am so thankful to have a new laptop that I could do more to enhance student learning. My students light up every time I showcase their work on the Promethean or put their work on the document camera. I would not be able to do all this without this new laptop and your support.”

Funded Apr 1, 2021I wanted to say thank you so much for the calculators and markers you provided my students. My students use the calculators daily to support their learning and it has been an extremely useful tool in the classroom.
Prior to sixth grade, many of my students had little to no practice using calculators in the classroom. Initially, they were excited just to have them and of course write "hello" with numbers in their calculators. But as the months have passed, they have learned important tools that make the calculator useful, specifically all the operations buttons and the exponents button.
Overall, I am extremely grateful for your support in helping my students learn with calculators. This donation will benefit my students for years to come.”

Effective Math Instruction With an Ipad
Funded Sep 14, 2020Thank you so much for the iPad and the otter case I received. It has been a game changer for me as I have been teaching remotely. There is no doubt that I would not be able to teach this year remotely without it so I am grateful for it.
As a math teacher, I teach with visuals, models and notes. Having the iPad has allowed me to continue teaching with this same format while being virtual. While I am on zoom with my laptop and iPad, I can write on my iPad with my stylus. Along with writing on my iPad, I have used it to draw visuals live while in class, highlight/circle important concepts I want my students to remember and model problems for students. I have also made math models ("toolkits") which I publish on google classroom for my students to reference while doing their classwork or homework. Additionally, I have used my iPad in both whole class and small group settings with the annotation features on zoom. My students have truly benefited from all of this as they have clear examples, models and notes to follow both in and out of class.
With the many challenges that remote learning has created, having this iPad has been the best solution for my remote teaching life. There is no doubt I would be struggling as a math teacher without this iPad. I truly appreciate your generous donation on my behalf.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Eugene
