My students will work in collaborative groups to recreate their local community to align with second grade social studies curriculum standards. They will also use Lego to roleplay community figures as well as their job responsibilities. Student groups will create communities and assign individuals to specific jobs. They will then write about how their character interacts with the other characters in the town. The writing will focus on how every job and community member relies on other people in the community in order for the community to succeed and grow.

About my class
