  • If You Give a Student a Planner - Pt2

    Funded Dec 31, 2021

Working with at-risk youth in my community can be difficult. It is hard to ensure the students are getting all they need to focus on their schoolwork and maintain a healthy mindset for the future.

Particularly, for my upper classman preparing for graduation, I get concerned they wont have something to help their mindsets to make the jump toward furthering their personal education.

Luckily, you came through to help with this. The yearly planners and writing utensils you donated gave me a way to help my students prepare for their next adventure! They looked to the immediate future to plan what they would be doing next: when orientation is, when their classes start, advisors they have to meet with, and more.

This was a personalized gesture I could give them as their teacher that was also educational and taught a critical skill. It is thanks to you that I was able to get enough planners and writing utensils to provide them all with what they needed.”

  • Staying Safe to Keep Learning! - Pt 1

    Funded Sep 17, 2020

I am very thankful for your donations to my students and classroom. COVID was a difficult time for everyone, but espeically students, parents, and teachers/staff. We had to find a way to give all involved the confidence that we were maintaining a sanitary environment at all times, no matter the place.

Recieving the sanitary wipes, bottles of hand sanitizers, air purifier, disposable face masks, and the plexiglass dividers made it a welcoming atmosphere for us all to peacefully and healthily exist in together.

Though COVID is over, I still find myseld utilizing materials as prepare desks for students to sit in, my small office space where I pull students to test 1-on-1, and handle the academic materials we use on a day to day basis.

Once again, thank you for coming through for me and my students in our time of need. It gave us all enough peace of mind so that we could focus on learning.”

    With gratitude,

With COVID-19 taking away students' classroom experience this past year, it is important to pick up where the students have left off and keep moving forward. The safety and health of each student is my number one priority this coming school year. These sneeze guards, disposable comfortable children masks and paper towels will help keep my students comfortable and improve their learning conditions so they are able to focus and learn. My students would benefit all of the requested supplies and they would be an important assent in making students comfortable in the classroom during these uncertain time. The hot months are always challenging, but this year there is an extra challenge, wearing masks in this hot, humid, classroom. This means that students will not be able to focus and might want to take their face mask off, which could increase the spread of COVID 19. Having these requested materials will help provide some relief from the heat, keeping the students more comfortable and engaged in learning.
