Student Equity Team Resources
Funded May 4, 2022Thank you so much for your generous contribution to this project and for your promise of providing more children access to these new texts. These books will allow all of our student equity team members a personal copy of the text from which we are learning.
These books provide students a basic understanding of important topics in diversity and inclusion like bias, identity and advocacy. Not only will these lessons help them to become more knowledgeable members of our equity team, it will also allow them to become more aware of themselves and those surrounding them.”

Funded Oct 21, 2021Thank you so much for helping me to bring new technology into my classroom.
This new printer has helped my students visualize science content in a way that black and white toner copies do not allow. They have been able to make out details of different planets and create models of the DNA structure. My students have been able to print forests and skies for their museum dioramas, which allowed my students who get frustrated easily with creative projects to still engage and feel encouraged in completing their projects.
Thank you again for supporting my students. I look forward to seeing what else they can create with our new color printer!”

A Diverse Student Library
Funded Dec 11, 2021Thank you for funding this project for my classroom.
Although I am a science teacher, I strive to make sure I have books in my room to model reading and so that students have fun options for their weekend reading. I particularly make sure to have available books written by black, indigenous and people of color, queer authors, and writers from various religious backgrounds, which ensure that my students can read about experiences like their own.
On student in particular has borrowed from our classroom library almost weekly. She is a student who at first struggled to complete tasks and would instead read. She has made such a change over the year and now reads almost two books a week.
Thank you for helping to inspire change and bring new voices into my classroom.”

Funded Dec 1, 2021Thank you so much for your help in funding this project!
Each time I got a new box, I knew it was going to be full with supplies that would allow my students to engage in classwork without having to worry about if they had a pencil or if their notebooks were full from taking so many notes. Students know that they will have what they need to succeed in my classroom and I am grateful for your generosity.
These materials also included small prizes that students can either trade in tickets they earn from doing well in class and provide small incentives for their learning.”

Funded Nov 29, 2021Thank you so much for funding this project. Our forensics course was new this year, which meant that we did not have a lot of materials to use with students. These materials have helped to make class more engaging with all of the hands on materials they present.
Students have been able to photograph fake crime scene, dust desks and handles to learn about fingerprints and learn about why bugs are so important when learning about time of death. Many of my students have been given a new lens with which to look at crime and think about the criminal justice system. I hope to continue using these kits so they can continue to gain a deeper understanding of forensics.
Thank you so much again for your help and support!”

Funded Jul 29, 2021Thank you so so much for funding this project. These materials allowed me and my students to hit the ground running this year in our science class. I was able to ensure that every student had a notebook to start the year off.
These materials have helped my students to engage more in their reading of science content by using the highlighters to help them pull out key facts.
My students have also used to colored pencils to create models of DNA and make their projects more fun and presentable.
I cannot thank you enough for helping my students to be a little more prepared for new science lesson in the classroom! Thank you so much!”

Funded Jul 25, 2021Thank you so much again for your help in funding this project. Climate and temperature in a classroom really can impact the way we feel comfortable interacting in a space, which is so important in thinking about the ways we want to engage our students in learning.
This really has helped to cool down the room in the warmer months and I look forward to using it towards the end of the year when the third floor gets really hot. This is also going to help deter the students from standing over the air filter because the room will already be cool.
Thank you so much again!”

Student Health And Safety
Funded Aug 12, 2021Thank you so much again for helping to fund these materials for our students! They have been so useful and helpful in so many ways. Students need band-aids for small cuts, tissues for sneezes and paper towels, so many paper towels, for spills and accidents, especially in a science classroom.
We are so grateful to be able to have materials for their small needs and provide them a clean and Lysol-wiped space during COVID times. Unimaginably, students really enjoy helping out to clean the room, and having these materials around and at the ready really make cleanups tasks easy. They make so many silly comments about all the soap ("You must really like to clean, Ms!) but I know they appreciate having hand soap in case they need it.
These materials have also allowed us to help our nurse. I find that I don't have to send students so often for non-emergencies since we have band-aids and feminine products in the room.
Thank you so much for your help and generosity to our students.”

Funded May 23, 2021Thank you so much for your generosity in giving to this project. With these materials, we were able to make goody bags for each one of our eighth graders! A coworker and I drove a big cart full of the goody bags we made through each floor of our building ensuring all students received their gift. (We did this every day of the last week of school since students followed a hybrid schedule.)
Right when students received their bags, they rushed to open them and see the goodies inside of them. We were happy to see their gifts provided them a small snack for the end of the day as well!
Last year proved hard in trying to hold celebrations and events given all of the restrictions that COVID presented. Our students' entire middle school career was affected by the global pandemic, and the goody bags allowed us to celebrate our students in a small but, most importantly, safe way. Thank you for helping us to grant our students a proper send off into high school.”

Creating a Equitable Classroom Library
Funded May 4, 2021Thank you so much for your help and generosity in funding this project! The books arrived in boxes throughout the week and my students were excited more and more everyday. This classroom library has provided students books to read at their leisure when their in class texts just don't reach them on a deeper level.
One student who always told me he hated reading found a book that he actually liked!
Thank you so much again for your donation to our classroom library. One story can really make a difference in a child's life, even more so when they can relate to it and truly see themself represented.”
