Bilingual Students Learn Sounds
Funded Feb 13, 2025My students and I are so very grateful for your donation. Right now, there are so many students that are struggling with learning to read, more so for students with speech and language difficulties. We will work hard at learning our sounds in both Spanish and English to increase reading skills that are so important for their general education progress in all subjects.
Thank you!”

Fun with Speech!
Funded Sep 15, 2023Dear wonderful, incredible, kind Donor,
Thank you SO much for donating to this project, out of all the projects out there! Speech therapy at school is full of fun and motivating activities thanks to this donation. Speech and language activities are targeted through games that are motivating. The iPad has been used to target the student's different interest and at their particular age/grade level. This iPad is used to target comprehension and expression of language, articulation and social stories in both English and Spanish.
The Lakeshore Animal Adventure Play Carpet has enhanced speech area into a more relaxed environment for learning vocabulary and sounds in words. Students sit in a small group and review animal names and the initial letter of each animal. The Lakeshore Letter Identification pack is used in group activities to target articulation and phonemic awareness skills.
The students want to be in this classroom all day long because they feel relaxed, happy, and they are having fun while learning.
With immense gratitude,
Ms. Ferrer and all her students”

Let's Read and Write: My student's need easy reading/writing activities
Funded Sep 7, 2023We have had a lot of un with the games, puzzles, and activities donated by you. The students have been super motivated and they show really good progress with identifying letters and words. Some of the students are already ready words. With the puzzles, I was able to print out words to describe the puzzle scenes. Words that completed sentences that described the objects in the scenes, using the correct articles and verbs. Because we are in a dual immersion school where most young students are fluent only in Spanish. I was able to prepare activities to make sentences in both Spanish and English.
You can't imagine the enthusiasm for learning, their appreciation for the games, and their love for sharing and playing in group activities that they have shown. The students have been having fun, while learning to read and write. The experience has given them a positive attitude towards reading and writing. Its not a difficult chore, but a fun activity. I really want to thank you for your donation and for making a big difference in the student's school year.”

Ms. Ferrer
Cool, Comfy, and Cozy in the Classroom
Funded Sep 16, 2020The air purifier has been a great asset for the classroom. Especially for the days in which the students have been assessed. It is set up in the classroom to help maintain the air cleaned while inside administering tests. Unlike other air purifiers, it is also a fan and it helps maintain a cooler environment during the warmer days. It is also a heater, so during these cooler winter days it not only purifies the air in the classroom but also keeps the student warm.
The students feel comfortable, warm, and cozy during their time in the classroom. It is important to feel comfortable during assessments. They don't hear any excessive noise coming from the air purifier fan and they feel happy, warm, and ready to work. There are less breaks and more continuous working time. The environment is so much better with the air purifier/heater/cooler and it promotes a better learning environment.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Ferrer
