Learning & Exploring through Cooking
Funded Jan 15, 2025We wanted to say thank you so much for the Air Fryer/Convection Oven and the refrigerator. We were all so excited to receive these wonderful appliances. Our old refrigerator was nearly 25 years old and was very small and we only had a small toaster oven which was difficult to cook treats in for 18 children.
Now that we have the new refrigerator with much more room, we are able to have the supplies we need to cook with the children, such as milk, eggs, and butter. Having the wonderful convection oven in our classroom has been a game changer. We've made rainbow cupcakes, confetti cupcakes that we made into "ponds" with "fish" on top, cookies, and biscuits. The children learn many skills through cooking, such as counting and measuring & chemistry and capacity.
Through your generosity we are now able to provide our students with hands-on cooking experiences. The benefits of these learning experiences are unmeasurable. We are extremely grateful for your donation.”

Well Loved Couches Turned in Retirement Papers, New Ones Needed
Funded Aug 14, 2024We are so grateful for your donations. We love our new comfy couches. The children use the couch in the cozy center to relax and take a break when they become overwhelmed. The couch in the literacy center is a comfy spot to read our new books. We LOVE our Selphy photo printer. We are able to take pictures of the children in action and then print the pictures out to send home or display in our classroom. The children are so happy to be able to take their pictures home to share with their families. The new laminator and laminating pouches are a great help to us in creating and preserving the children's work.
The Melissa and Doug school bus is a favorite toy in our block center. The children adore the figures and enjoy "driving" the kids to school.
Thank you so much for your donation. It helps to make our job as teachers easier and it enhances the education of our students.”

Funded Aug 2, 2023Thank you so much for all the new learning materials you donated to our class. We really love our new Cozy Center. It has so many new fidget toys, pop-its, wonder wands, sensory bottles, and calming toys. All of these toys help our students feel better or calm when they are having a difficult time. Or the children just enjoy relaxing and chilling out in this calm and comfortable area in the classroom. We also enjoy playing with the new board games like Candy Land, Chutes & Ladders, and Hi-Ho the Cherry-O. They are so much fun and help our children learn about turn-taking and counting. We are also very grateful for our new linear calendar and attendance chart. They brought a fresh new look to our classroom and we use them each morning to start our day.
When the students first saw all of the new toys in the centers, they were very excited and eager to use them. The love to express themselves through art. The new collage materials are such a big hit. They use them everyday to create masterpieces.
Our class will continue to learn throughout the school year using these materials, toys, and games you have so generously donated.”

Funded May 9, 2023Thank you so much for the beautiful new carpet. Now every student has their very own square to sit on during lessons in the meeting area. Thank for all of the new toys for our learning centers. The students love playing with the different vehicles and traffic signs while designing roads and structures in the block center. The children enjoy exploring animals, color & light, magnets, sound, magnification, and motion in our Discovery/Science center. The children use the phone, pots, pans, dishes, and purses every day during our center time. They absolutely love to pretend to shop, prepare food, and cook meals for each other and the babies. The Alpha-bots, Number-bots, Alpha-Rockets, and Geo-Boards were the perfect addition to our Toys and Games center. Although the students love playing with these toys, it's the impact on their fine motor development that is the most exciting.
The students were thrilled when they came to school and discovered all the new materials in the centers. It has renewed their excitement of playing and learning in the centers.
Play and exploration is such an important part of development in the early childhood years. Your generous donation will have a positive impact on our students for many years to come.
Thank you so much. We truly appreciate your generosity.”

Funded Nov 29, 2022We really appreciate your donations to our project. Because of your donation, we were able to get a color printer for our Pre-K classroom. In pre-k we use a lot of games and materials custom made by the teacher that have colored pictures. We also take lots of photos of the students for various purposes. We display the photos all over the classroom to help the children feel comfortable & have a sense of community. We use the photos of the students to make learning materials. For example "Me Puzzles", "Friendship Bingo", & "Classmate Memory Match."
The students love to use the learning materials that the teachers create for them. The students enjoy seeing their photos displayed around the classroom. One of their favorite games is "Classmate Memory Match." They get so excited when they hear the printer printing out something because they know that new learning materials are going to be made for them.
Once again, thank you so much for your generosity!”

Funded Jun 29, 2022Thank you so much for providing us with these brand new cots. The cots are very well made and sturdy. The children were so excited when the new cots arrived. Their faces lit up. We teachers were excited too, knowing that our students had new, clean, and safe cots to take their daily rest on. Each cot came with a plastic name insert. This helps with keeping the cots sanitary. With the name tags on the cots each child will use the same cot each day.
The new cots have made such a difference in our class' day to day functioning. And because they are so sturdy we will be able to use them with future classes as well.”
