  • Make Remote Learning of Chinese Handwriting Possible

    Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness to support my students!!

    All of my dual language class students are still receiving remote instructions. Before receiving the iPad and Apple pen, I was not able to show my students how to write Chinese characters using my computer. As a result, my students were missing the demonstration part of Chinese writing every day. Now with the iPad and Apple pen, I will be able to demonstrate how to write Chinese characters step by step when sharing my screen to teach daily lessons during zoom meetings!! My dual language students can benefit greatly from it now!!

  • Help Students Learn in a Safe Environment

    Now my school has reopened and my students can use all the purchased items in the classroom. For example, with the facial masks, I have placed them in the front of the classroom and my students can take one whenever they need it. However, for the disinfecting wipes, they were not delivered at that time due to the shortage issues. So I have replaced them with other classroom supplies that are being utilized daily in my class.

My students are motivated, hard-working and smart kids who couldn't wait to come back to school. Many of them expressed to me about how much they missed their regular, face-to-face classes and how much they prefer to interact with their peers in person. As much as I am happy and excited for my students to return to my class, I fear for the short supply of masks and the cleaning and disinfecting products due to the budge cuts to the DOE. I wish to create the best learning environment that I can do to prepare my students for the upcoming, uncertain school year.
