• Immerse Yourself in New Media!

  I'm excited for the expanded resources for my film and gaming classes. In film, I'm upping the rigor every year with how much analysis we do and this book will offer more text-based materials to supplement the class.

  The expanded tech for gaming will provide a new avenue for students to experience one of their favorite past-times. Whether training for esports or just looking to get a break from reality, VR is sure to be a big hit with my class and clubs.”

• Classroom Comfort for Mr. Dudek's New Room

  It has been a wonderful change in the atmosphere thanks to your generous donations. The students are making full use of the new supplies that help make my classroom one of the most comfortable rooms on campus. From the light covers that change the aura to the alternative seating and gaming industry additions, my students seem to be more themselves with different seating options and the ability to explore their interests during extra curriculars.

  The repeated success of these donor's choose projects mean I get the classroom supplies I need not to conduct my class, but to make my class a safe space where students are open to learning.”

  Thank you so much for your generous contributions to the gaming industry classroom. Your donations are helping to expand the scope of the class and is raising the level of engagement across both of my classes.

  In my experience, students are allergic to boredom; It's one of the reasons they're so attached to their phones. Having multiple systems, televisions, genres of games gives them the opportunities to explore their interests, challenge them to try new things, and become better digital citizens in both cooperative and competitive environments.”

• Volleyballing Out!

  Funded Jan 9, 2023

  Volleyballing Out has helped our program out immensely. With the number of athletes growing every year, more and more volleyballs are needed to make sure each player can get the repetitions they need. With multiple teams practicing and needing to take balls to games, having an ample supply on hand is crucial.

  The boys volleyball team has to work really hard to get new equipment. The large number of girls at various skill levels greatly outnumbers the boys, so fundraising efforts like donations and donor's choose become lifelines to keep programs going.”

• Finding Voices: Student Podcast needs Microphones!

  The podcasting equipment has made a tremendous impact on my broadcasting students. For those not so confident in their writing abilities, it has provided an opportunity for them to use their voices in a controlled setting to get across the content the way they wanted. New technology is always exciting and being on the ground floor helped show what is possible for the class going forward.

  The nice part about having microphones for podcasting is the quieter kids have really taken a liking to them. I think because they have the ability to record themselves rather than present directly to the class helps them relax and makes the content feel more natural.”

• Comfort in the Classroom

  Alternative seating has provided students a more comfortable work environment. Not only that, but students needing a break from the stress of school, stress of life, visit during office hours just for a comfortable, quiet room to decompress for a bit. Athletes worn out from morning practices or students just wanting to talk about life, my students look forward to comfort in the classroom.

  Additionally, the curtain helps with the comfort level as well. This is especially true considering I have an east-facing window and the glare would make my board basically unusable for the better part of the day.”

• Bring the Action!

  Thank you so much for funding this project. With the increased focus on tech integration in schools, these materials are providing students with cutting edge technology to meet the needs of a 21st century student.

  The coolest part of these materials is the students will be able to see the fruits of their labors. It isn't like just receiving a score on a test; students will be able to make dynamic videos with clear audio that they'll be able to see on social media, in print, etc.

  Students today are content creators; they're creative, passionate, and love the freedom to see their vision come to fruition. These resources will take their current skills and give them the opportunity to expand their knowledge with tools they wouldn't otherwise be able to use.”

• Bump, Set, Spike! Set Our Athletes Up for Success!

  Thank you so much for your contributions to our volleyball program. My athletes are putting in some hard work towards training to become the best student athletes they can be. Most of my players want to do nothing but play the sport, but emphasizing the need for training as well as the benefits has them looking forward to more.

  With the variety of equipment from this donor's choose, student-athletes aren't worried about a "boring" routine and I know they actually look forward to their routines. One of my athletes, Gabby, was struggling with her approach and I told her working on her vertical would help her power and timing. In just a few short weeks of work we saw improvement.

  The next step is transferring training into on-the-court performance; emphasizing game-like drills and putting their newfound conditioning to the test. We're in a new division against stiff competition and I know my team is looking forward to stepping up their game.”
