AAC for Preschoolers
Funded Sep 29, 2022Thank you so much for your generous contributions to my project! My students and I greatly appreciate your kindness. I was able to download various communication apps on the iPad to use during my students' speech-language therapy sessions. This helps me address my students' goals and helps them make progress in the area of communication.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) applications have helped my non-speaking students to communicate. These students now have a way to express their wants and needs and participate during speech-language therapy sessions. The iPad also helps provide my students with a method of communication while they are awaiting their own AAC devices.
Thank you again for your generosity and for making a difference in the lives of my students!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Heather

Funded Dec 17, 2020Thank you for your contributions! I have both in-person and remote students who are benefiting from all of the wonderful materials I received through Donors Choose. All of my students were so excited to see the new toys/materials! My in-person students now get to have their own materials (e.g. sensory slime, toy animals), which helps ensure safety during this pandemic. It also helps that I have less sanitizing to do in between my speech-language therapy sessions!
My remote students were also excited to see new materials. I use the toys that are more difficult to sanitize (e.g., the soft "What's Inside?" box) during remote sessions. These new materials have motivated my students to participate in activities that target a wide range of goals. For example, I use the "What's Inside" box to target "what" questions, object identification, requesting, expanding utterances, and so much more! I have students that love it and keep requesting for, "more box!".
I look forward to using the materials I received through Donors Choose for the rest of the school year, and for years to come! I am also going to send students home with some materials/toys (e.g. sensory slime, vehicles) so they can carryover everything they've learned at school, and keep learning and benefiting from the materials at home. Thank you again for all of your generous donations!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Heather
