Please Help My Students With Tools To Learn Remotely!
Funded Sep 1, 2020Thank you so much for supporting my Project: Please Help My Students with Tools to Learn Remotely!!
The tools have helped my students so much. They love the bright Calendar as it gives them a warm classroom feeling like they have when they are in the school building. They love to see the months, days and holidays coming up. The students love all the great magnetic counting tools. The Math chart has ten frames, a number bond and an open number line in one place to help the children see the many ways to solve a problem. They love the beautiful counters such as the butterflies and stars that bring the math problems to life. The base ten blocks are so helpful for the children to see how 2-digits numbers are regrouped when adding and subtracting. The children also love the sentence starters, words and letters with visuals to help them write sentences as well as stories.
Our next steps include having the children choose the model or equation that will help them solve each of their addition and subtraction problems. For example, each child can choose one of the tools such as base ten blocks to help them with math problems. After, the students will be writing an explanation of how they will solve them. They will be utilizing the sentence starters and visuals to help them with their explanation.
Our class is diverse, and many are English language learners, children from many cultures and walks of life, students with disabilities, and students who require enriched activities. The tools that you sent have given all the children many ways to express themselves and to learn in the best way possible for each child in a remote classroom. My students were so excited when they saw all the amazing supplies that were donated. As you will see from the letters that the children wrote, they are very thankful.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to learn with such wonderful tools and for giving the children in my class the opportunity to excel in their remote learning environment. We are all very grateful!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Bernard
